CHECK YOUR E-MAILS LIKE TWICE A DAY AND REPLY ALL TO EVERYTHING UNTIL WE GET AN ACTUAL ONLINE HUB GOING.
In other news, I forgot to bring it up again at the meeting tonight, but David, keep researching online Moodle-type places (maybe we can use Moodle?!) for us to secretly gather at from now on and send a link out immediately so we can get the schedule and news up. Something where only we can read and post things. A forum, maybe? :S

Chelsea and I put together a newer rough version of the draft yesterday and submitted it to Ruth Vincent (a professional in the animation field who said she would go over it.) I got a quick reply from her saying that we should ask for as much money to start up as we can, and if the 'max' was 5000, then we're on target, Chelsea!
David- Update this blog with a link to a wiki or a Ning or something we can post everything on. I think we should get more of a file-sharing and community thing going rather than the blog. (Not that the blog's bad, it just won't be as appropriate anymore, in my opinion. Agree? Disagree?)
Sterling- Draw a 'good' picture of Sam. No shading or anything necessary, just proper character sheets that will reflect his final look.
Chelsea- Look into production schedules on the Animation World Network to go over with me?
Carmen- Think of all the production tasks that we'll need to deal with? Think about your scene, maybe? If they decide to keep the different styles cut, then your 3D might already be in the bag, provided with a couple of touch ups if you want.
Collaborating with John's group. Since we're both probably going to work at the school, John's group and ours will be able to pool some of our money for shared resources. For example, insurance, software, and a supervisor. We are meeting on Sunday at 4pm to discuss this at his home near 4th. If you're free, please come.
There is a pitch on Monday at the BPCPA office from 1pm to 1:30pm. If you're not busy, make it a point to come; the clients will want to meet you.
During the pitch on Monday, I'm going to present our final PSA for Darren's class. They are currently unaware that we have animated it in different styles. If they like it, awesome. If they don't, we'll have to adjust our production schedule, budget, and responsibilities. I'll update this with more info on Monday and will upload the info from this Monday's meeting as soon as I get home to scan them. If I think of anything else, I'll make an edit, and if you have any questions or suggestions or WHATEVS please post them, or phone me, or etc. etc. etc.

My personal favorites?
These two, where Sterling proudly smacks this guy on the head...
...then he turns around and smacks Sterling back in the face. Priceless.
This was a good way to lighten up.
Let's keep fighting guys! The finish line is so close, the grad panels are coming up, Ruben is ready to chew through us and the prize money is in our grasp. We can do this!

I didn't know my landlord could open my door while I napped to let in a plumber that would destroy my bathroom and set up a barricade in front of my room.
I wake up to that in front of my bedroom. It doesn't look like much but it was wet and gross around it and it was toilet water, so I didn't want to get closer..........
Anyway. That was just for Steph. Pics or it didn't happen.

Here's an approximation of what the animation in the scene will look like
ALSO: Since there is no prior colour scheme for Sam, I made his undershirt white, his sweatervest olive green, and dark gray/black shoes. He wears khaki pants. If anyone likes this, I guess you can use this palette for now until we have a general consensus on what we like.
Still a work und progress. =_=
The girl isn't quite up to snuff, but I like the killer.
Steph, listen to this.
It sounds... a lot like your piano medley except less grand? I dunno. This has been a weird experience.

JUST A REMINDER EVERYONE THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE A RENDERED IMAGE OF YOUR SCENE FOR TOMORROW, THATS RIGHT, TOMORROW (and if need be you can work on finishing it for tuesday) AND THAT WE HAVE TO MEET MARTIN TOMORROW AS WELL- I DON'T HAVE THE SHEET HE HAS TO SIGN SO STEPH YOU GOTTA COME EARLY, LIKE, 11:30 EARLY.
question: who is taking the last scene? should we have a render of the last scene or just should we each just take the character from our scenes- do a polish drawing of that THEN put it on top of Sterling's theatre BG?

Working on the song we recorded today/tonight. Most troublesome scene: CLOVERFIELD. There's too much going on in such a short time, agreed? I'm going to see if I can steal a second from the young family, as they have 2.5 seconds on screen. How long do they need for viewers to register the situation?... Will continue to experiment and I believe Chelsea has volunteered to colour it for the submission. THOUGHTS?
SO...I believe we were planning to meet at Posh on friday at 11:30, but now that we need to sign up for grad panels should we relocate and have lunch eleswhere at like...10:30? Or should we all just meet at school and go for lunch afterwards, come back and work or...something else?
We just really need to iron out our submission package on friday @.@

I've yet to upload the completed version with transitions and characters. Oh, and the updated song.

These aren't the final backgrounds (hopefully) but this is how they will be layed out. They should give you an idea of how to frame your shots. If and when we make the final animation, ideally some of these will be remade for higher resolution and details. However, I like how watercolours work on these backgrounds. Should all of them be made in watercolour or just some? I understand that some of you may want to do your own backgrounds to fit the character of your scene, so post in the comments what your thoughts are.
ALSO: i added in the overlay of the tank from the "Cloverfield" scene just because of how badass it looks lolololo
-Sterling sparkleshark triple-D lagann xtreem
Suitable for viewing by persons of all ages. Occasional violence, swearing and coarse language, and the most innocent of sexually suggestive scenes and nudity, are permitted in this category.
In lieu of this, we can show the guns, tanks, etc as long as their use doesn't portray explicit violence. So as long as brendan's pistol or the tank doesn't fire, we should be good.

Also, I was going to take a gamble and not book any official accomodation. Mainly because I'm sure my old flatmates would put me up, but also I thought it would be an interesting experience couch surfing for a few weeks, if people were willing to put me up...
Anyway, if anyone is interested in seeing me (*nervous laugh*) then let me know when you'll be around in the summer and I'll do my best to join you in beautiful Vancouver! :D

NOTE: The dialogue has since been cut, the transition between 300 and Cloverfield has changed, the shot for Cloverfield has been improved, and there is a child with the couple at the theatre.
CONSIDER THIS A DRAFT AND NOT FINAL IN ANY WAY but only for REFERENCE until the new one is done.

Oh god Scott Pilgrim oh my god oh god
(It's so shiny and filled with tragedy why has no one in Cornwall read it I need someone to weep at)
Also I am introducing my housepeoples to the various nommies! They have never heard of Pocky and that is ridiculous.
Also I kiss the Dissidia can before I go to sleep at night. No, I really don't, but it's so pretty I can't bring myself to use the potion in case I run into an inpromptu boss battle without a white mage to heal me.
I'm trying to figure out what kind of Cornwallian snacks would be appropriate to send back, but I think the roast squirrel potato chips have run out at the shop (No I'm not lying).
Seriously though I totally had a cryfest the night before that box arrived 'cause I missed everyone. And then I had a total cryfest today. I love you guys!

Sam concept sketches/reference sheet from Sterling.
A more dynamic background for the Mummy scene than the direct one we've got right now. We need to make the backgrounds more dynamic!Uh, this is a continuation of the above drawing; so there's the mummy scene at the top, rubble and amphoras and etc. then at the bottom it dissolves into the treetops into the next scene (horror movie.)
Ideas for more dynamic shots for the horror sequence. DYNAMIC DYNAMIC DYNAMIC Below are some thumbnails of the mummy and horror sequences; playing with the camera.
Brendanfraser faces the camera, holding a torch. Can we have a gun in a G-rated ad?... I'm guessing no gun, guys.
Brendanfraser turns to reveal the MUMMY! who was standing there all along just wiggling around or whatever in the darkness. One of those cheapo GASP scares. You know the one.
SUDDENLY, our musical hero, our argyle-clad Sam, slams open the sarcophagus he was hiding in, knocking Brendanfraser out of the scene. Sam then slams his left hand onto the Mummy's face with a PG-rated sticker on it and sings, 'OHHHHHHH!'
(Transition is missin; but it will be a downwards pan from the mummy scene to the horror scene through the rubble then trees as seen in the messy concept drawing above.) Masked murderer Jason (no relation) looks over his shoulder at the camera, revving his chainsaw.
As Jason turns around, Sexy Victim is revealed to be cornered at the trunk of a tree! Leaves start to fall from above Jason's head.
Jason RAISES his chainsaw, and then-
BLAMMO! Sam finally frees himself from the trees and lands on Jason's head....and, singing, he slaps an R-rated sticker on Sexy Victim's face before dashing off to the next scene, in the Princess' bedroom!
SHOULD BE YOU
I almost forgot to mention; HOMEWORK is to draw some 'solid' character and background designs. NOT detailed (unless you have the time) but at least something that will definitely evolve into the final product. (You know what I mean by solid. I don't actually mean SOLID solid. I mean, more like a Jell-o consistency. Right now, for the most part, our drawings are like hair gel consistency.) WE HAVE ONLY 6 WEEKS. Please bring drawings to the pho meeting at 12 on Monday! (or at the library afterwards.) WE ARE ALL BARK AND NO BITE unless we get some serious drawings done, people. The passion's there, the talent's there, now let us all put it to for real paper instead of only napkin drawings. <3 FROM STEPH
